The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was launched in February 2019 to give small and marginal farmer families income support. Eligible families receive ₹6,000 a year, paid in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 every four months, directly into their bank accounts.

If you are wondering whether your instalment has been credited, here is how to check your status and what to do if something is stuck. Instalment dates are announced by the government, so always confirm the latest on the official PM-KISAN portal.

What the scheme is about

PM-KISAN aims to ease the financial pressure on farmers with small landholdings by sending money straight to their accounts. The cash helps cover farm inputs and household expenses, and because the transfer is direct, it reaches the farmer without middlemen.

How to check your PM Kisan payment

  1. Open the official website. Go to the PM-KISAN portal (pmkisan.gov.in) and make sure you are on the government site.
  2. Find Farmers Corner. It is on the homepage.
  3. Click Beneficiary Status.
  4. Enter your details. Choose Aadhaar number, bank account number or mobile number, as the options allow, and fill in the captcha.
  5. Click Get Data.
  6. Read your status. The page shows whether you are listed, the instalments paid and the payment status.
  7. Log out safely if you used a shared or public device.

If your payment is stuck

  • Complete eKYC on the portal or at a Common Service Centre. Pending eKYC is a common reason for missed instalments.
  • Make sure your bank account is linked to Aadhaar and the details match exactly.
  • Check that your land records are updated.
  • If everything looks right, contact your local agriculture office or the official PM-KISAN helpline.
